Biography
Etan Kohlberg was born in Tel-Aviv as the son of a pharmacist. In his childhood he learned music theory and piano playing.

He spent his school years in Tel Aviv and New York and began studying Arabic as a teenager. From 1963 he studied English and Arabic at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, including Meir Jacob Kister , David Ayalon and Joshua Blue.
